Who is affected?

Users attempting to connect to the internet at Casper FP, Sheridan, Cheyenne, LCCC, and Powell Seed Lab.

First reported at 7:00 am on Tuesday Febrary 9th, 2016.

Service restored.

Update 2/10/2016 9:30 am Charter Communications continues to have network issues for a 2nd day. We have seen what amounts to a DoS attack on UW. Yesterday Charter was disconnected from the UW campus routers. Today Charter was disconnected from the UW-Casper router. Since 9:30 am, UW Casper has had reliable Internet access via their primary Internet connection (via the State of Wyoming network).

2/10/2016 6:42am Charter performed overnight maintenance on some of their equipmeent but this did not resolve the issue. Stil no ETA for a fix. Becuase we are relying on Charter to identify and fix the problem these sites will likely be down for an extended perios of time. �

Problem Resolution: 

IT has an open support case with Charter Communications. This event report will be updated again when the issue is resolved or if an estimated time to resolution is provided by Charter. No estimated time for correction of the problem is currently available.

None -- (minimal to no urgency associated with resolving the incident/event) – Will update when resolved.
