Office Web Apps Failure

Who is affected?

Some users attempting to open office documents from OneDrive and SharePoint Online using Office Web Apps. We are unable to determine exactly how many users at UW are having the problem, but are aware of at least 6 reported users so far.

Details:

We have received multiple reports from users that they are unable to open Office documents from OneDrive using the web interface. They receive an error similar to "502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server."

Problem Resolution: 

The problem was resolved by Microsoft at around 6:15PM on 11/19/2015.

Priority Levels:

High -- (affects a majority of campus and/or applications used by a majority of campus) – updated hourly

Medium -- (affects a substantial portion of campus and/or applications used by them) – Updated every 2 hours

Low -- (affects or minimal portion of campus and/or has minimal impact on applications used on campus) – Updated every 4 hours

None -- (minimal to no urgency associated with resolving the incident/event) – Will update when resolved.
