More details:

A planned power outage in the ITC building on Saturday morning, August 9th, caused the Internet edge router in the ITC to go down and UW Internet connection failed over to a redundant Internet edge router in the Telecom building as expected. When power was restored in the ITC building, the routers began to communication again, however UW experienced intermittent Internet access from approximately 8:20 to 8:50 am.

Problem resolution:

The problem eventually resolved itself while IT technical personnel were investigating the problem.
