Microsoft Patch Causing Attachment Errors in PeopleSoft

Who is affected?
Internet Explorer users attempting to attach documents to PO or upload resumes in PeopleSoft.

At approximately 10:30 am this morning, Monday, July 28th, IT was aware of problems caused by Microsoft update KB2962872. Internet Explorer users are having problems attaching documents to purchase orders in the PeopleSoft Financials system since KB2962872 was rolled out by Microsoft. This is also affecting users attempting to upload resumes in HRMS.
Problem resolution:

A recent Microsoft patch, KB2976627, does fix this problem. MS patches will be made available to campus workstations next Tuesday, August 19th, and will be required for campus workstations on September 9th. Users can run updates by hand if they would like and get the patches immediately by opening Windows Update and clicking on the “Check online for updates from Microsoft Update” link.
