On Friday morning, August 24th, IT personnel upgraded the campus Windows Update System to accomodate the new campus SSL certificate system. Administrators of servers running the Windows Server 2003 family of products will need to download and install a hotfix in order to receive system and anti-virus updates from the campus update system. This hotfix cannot be distributed to campus through the normal system. Servers that do not have this hotfix applied will be unable to receive updates locally.

Problem resolution:

Administrators of affected servers should download and install the appropriate hotfix found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938397. The affected server will require a reboot upon installation.
