Multiple Computer Systems Impacted by Network Related Problems

Who is affected?
Users attempting to access the UW computer network and network-delivered computer systems and services.
More details:
As early as approximately 11:00 am today, Monday, November 21st, IT was aware of problems with network hardware that was affecting the availability of network connections. One of a pair of DNS servers experienced problems and failed over to a second DNS server, however the subsequent load on the other server significantly slowed network performance.
Inbound and outbound email is being delayed. As soon as services are restored all email will be processed. No email will be lost.
Problem resolution:
IT personnel corrected problems with DNS/DHCP servers and restored normal service by 10:30 pm, Monday, November 21st.
