Who is affected?

Users of UW's Forefront Client Security software and Google Chrome browser.

At approximately 9:00 am this morning, Friday, September 30th, IT was aware that the newest pattern file for Forefront Client Security was falsely identifying existing and new installations of the Google Chrome web browser as being an infection.

Problem resolution:

IT personnel report that Microsoft has issued an updated pattern file to correct the problem, and that IT will deliver the file to UW computers through the WSUS system. Delivery of the new pattern file should be completed by approximately 1:30 pm, Friday, September 30th.
