Who is affected?

Some UW network computers and servers running Windows Software Update Services (WSUS).

This morning, Wednesday, July 13th, IT Systems personnel discovered a problem with the patch approval process for the Windows Update Services. The problem resulted in performance issues with a number of servers and, in some rare cases, completely unresponsive services.

Problem resolution:

IT has taken corrective action and all unresponsive services should be responding normally as of 4:00 pm.  Until all server fixes have been applied this afternoon there may continue to be some services that exhibit slower response times than normal.
