IMAP Timeout Problems

Who is affected?
Users connecting to the UW email system with IMAP email clients.
More details:
IT received reports from users this afternoon, Monday, March 9th, indicating the timeouts for IMAP were set too low and were causing problems for IMAP clients.
Problem resolution:
IT increased the timeout on the load balancer to 30 minutes. As a result, the number of IMAP sessions on the load balancer increased dramatically and the session limit was reached. This caused some IMAP connections to be blocked and users to have connection failures. IT increased the session limit for IMAPs and is monitoring the situation to make sure that the limit is set high enough for the load.
