UW Antivirus Server Problems: New Officescan Installations Temporarily Unavailable

Who is affected?
Users of UW's Officescan antivirus software.

At approximately 12:45 pm this afternoon, Wednesday, March 4th, IT was aware of problems with UW's antivirus server and had taken it offline to perform corrective maintenance. As a result of the problems, individual users may notice that the Officescan icon in their system tray shows a broken line, indicating a disconnected status. In this case, however, antivirus protection is still functional. New installations of Officscan will be unavailable during the estimated 30 minutes that the server is offline.
Problem resolution:
IT personnel corrected the problem and restored normal service by 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 4th.
