Who is affected?

Users installing PASW Statistics 18 from UW-provided media or UWAPPS.

On Thursday, November 4th, IT was aware of the occurance of false virus warnings in Trend Micro OfficeScan during installation of UW-provided PASW Statistics 18 software.

OfficeScan antivirus will falsely detect a generic trogan in the media in file 1658a94.msi. OfficeScan will allow the installation process to continue. After installation, OfficeScan does not affect the operation of PASW Statistics 18 software.

Problem resolution:

Trend Micro should issue an updated pattern file in the future to correct the problem. There is no estimated time for correction of this problem.
