UW Student Lab System Problems

Who is affected?

Users attempting to acess the UWStudent Lab System.

More details:

The UWSLabStorage DFS cluster failed at approximately 6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 19th, causing the UWStudent lab system to fail.

There are two nodes in the DFS cluster. If server 1 fails, users are automatically redirected to server 2. In this particular case, server 1 only partially failed and users were not redirected to server 2. The server was still pingable and responding to RDP but was not servicing file sharing.

Problem resolution:

IT personnel corrected the problem and restored normal service by 7:00 pm, Wednesday, May 19th.
