5.26-30.06: Scheduled System Upgrade
Student File Server Unavailable During Memorial Day Weekend posted 5/25/06
Note: The Arthur server upgrade was completed by 3:30 PM Saturday and all public services were restored at that time.
This Friday, May 26th at 5:30 PM, the student file server, Arthur, will be taken off-line to begin migrating all of the data to a new file server. Arthur will return to service no later than 7 AM Tuesday, May 30th - but is expected to be available sooner.
Watch this page for Arthur availability updates during the weekend.
The following services will be unavailable during the upgrade process:
Student H: drive storage access
Ability to log into UWStudent Lab nodes
Access to any software housed on Arthur
Students needing access to data stored on Arthur over the weekend should copy the data to other storage media.
The upgrade to a new server will result in an increase to student H: drive storage. Shortly after the migration to new Arthur is complete, personal H: drive quotas will be increased to 200MBs per user.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The next available time for replacement is December.

Saturday, May 20th, between 11 am and 2 pm, there will be several brief (1-2 minute) interruptions to UW network access while network hardware and software is upgraded.

On Sunday, May 14th, at 9 am, there will be a brief (10 minute) interruption to UW Internet access while network software is upgraded.
5.4.06: Scheduled System Maintenance
Exchange Email Brief Service Interruption posted 5/3/06
Early Thursday morning, May 4th, at 12:01 am, IT personnel will be performing maintenance on the Exchange email system. Accounts that are hosted on the Telegraph1 server (it.uwyo.edu/email/telegraph_accounts.htm)
will be unavailable while the maintenance is performed. It is anticipated that the interruption in email service will
be brief. IT apologizes for any inconvenience.
4.2.06: Scheduled System Upgrade
UW Wireless Network Service Interruption posted 3/31/06
On Sunday, April 2nd, from 9 am until 2 pm upgrades to the UW wireless network will be performed by the wireless system vendor. As a result, wireless connectivity on campus will be unavailable
during that time period.
Note: wireless service in the Health Sciences building will not be affected.
Completion of the upgrade took longer than expected. Normal wireless service was restored by 7 pm, Sunday, April 2nd.
On Saturday, March 4th, at 5 pm IT will begin upgrades to hardware that hosts Warehouse and UWApps. As a result, those file sharing locations will be unavailable until
Sunday, March 5th at noon.
IT CSS specific shares, including department storage, training and temporary client
backups, will be unavailable from 5 pm on Friday until noon on Sunday.
2.26.06: Scheduled System Maintenance
Network Service Interruptions on West Campus
and in Wyo Hall, McWhinnie Hall and Service Bldg. posted 2/22/06
On Sunday, February 26th, IT will be performing network hardware upgrades.
The first upgrade will interrupt network access for all of campus west of 13th street from 8 am until approximately 10 am.
The second upgrade will interrupt network access in Wyo Hall, McWhinnie Hall and the Service Building from 10:30 am until approximately 12 noon.
2.22.06: Emergency System Maintenance
UWStudent
Brief Service Interruption posted 2/21/06
At 6:30 am on Wednesday, February 22nd, IT will perform emergency system maintenance on the UWStudent (Arthur) server. Users attempting to access UWStudent accounts from
computer lab workstations may experience a brief interruption to network service. The interruption should only last a matter of seconds. Network connections should resume
immediately following the service interruption.
2.15.06: Scheduled System Maintenance
Brief Internet Service Interruption posted 2/15/06
The UWYO OfficeScan Server (antivirus.uwyo.edu) will be taken offline for maintenance at 6 pm tonight, Wednesday, February 15th. Duration of the maintenance is estimated
to be no longer than 30 minutes.
Services Affected at 6 pm: Users who attempt to install OfficeScan while maintenance is being performed will be unsuccessful. Computers requesting OfficeScan updates while maintenance is being
performed will be unable to update.
If an OfficeScan update is being deployed at 6 pm, the maintenance will be delayed until it has completed.
1.18.06: Emergency System Maintenance

At 2 am on Wednesday, January 18th, IT technicians will upgrade
faulty network software. As a result, UW Internet service will be
interrupted. The outage is expected to last for no more than
30 minutes. Campus network access will not be affected.
