Who is affected?

Anyone using UWStudent Lab computers or users who access their student storage from other methods

UWStudent Lab storage migration

Systems Involved:

UW Student Labs

Beginning at 12:00 on Sunday, August 12, the storage used for the UWStudent Lab system will be migrated to a new system.  During this time logins will be denied on all UWStudent Lab machines (including the remote lab) and the existing storage will be set to read-only.

The migration is expected to be completed by 4am on Sunday, August 12.  At that time logins will be enabled for UWStudent Lab machines and the remote lab.  The student storage link on the VPN will be updated to point to the new storage.

The new storage will be available at \\userfiles\<username>

Problem Resolution:

The migration is complete and the UWStudent lab system is available for use.  Faculty and staff who have personal storage on warehouse will now find that mapped to the I drive.  The storage located on \\studentfiles will be available in a read-only mode for a few months.
