Who is affected?

User's potentially could be affected by a recent Phishing attempt that came to UW this morning. There is a link included in the email asking for your account information. Please do not fill out this information as it will compromise your account. The link is removed in the body of the email in the details of this report, but if you filled out the link, please contact the UWIT Help Desk at 307 766-4357, option #1 to reset your password. Remember, UW will never ask for your password. Any email requesting this information should be considered SPAM or Phishing and be deleted.

Phish email reported and take care of by security and PC team.

Problem Resolution: 

The email is currently being blocked on UW by the UWIT Security Team.

Priority Levels:

High -- (affects a majority of campus and/or applications used by a majority of campus) – updated hourly

Medium -- (affects a substantial portion of campus and/or applications used by them) – Updated every 2 hours

Low -- (affects or minimal portion of campus and/or has minimal impact on applications used on campus) – Updated every 4 hours

None -- (minimal to no urgency associated with resolving the incident/event) – Will update when resolved.
