Who is affected?

Reports have been received from the classroom building (undergraduate research presentations are occurring there today) at Coe library, and IT of log on issues.

Problem:

Network-Student Storage Issues

Systems Involved:

Network

Details:

At approximately 9:12 am on Saturday May 2, reports came that in all classrooms in classroom building, students had been logged onto temporary accounts, but those accounts were not working. At approximately 9:15 am I received a call from the Coe 202 computer lab assistant that users were unable to log-on to the student lab network. The lab assistant explained that the issues were similar to the issues which were occurring yesterday when the network went down in the afternoon. Users are still able to access the wireless network, so it seems to be the student storage that is affected.

Updates:

5/2/2015 12:08:17 PM:
5/2/2015 10:45 AM Isilon Cluster rebooted, it appears service has been restored. I'm not convinced the problem is actually resolved, so I think the event report should probably stay open for the time being.

Problem Resolution:

A patch we believe to be the source of recent instability has been rolled back. Normal operations should resume.
