Who is affected?

Users attempting to log into the UW Student Lab nodes or shares on uw-bulk

Problem:

studentfiles storage and uw-bulk

Details:

There appears to be an issue with the studentfiles storage that is causing logins to take an exceedingly long time.  H drives may also not be available for users who are presently logged in.

Updates:

5/1/2015 2:41:58 PM:
bjstaab: EMC support will be sending me a new patch to address further incompatibilities with an MS patch that was deployed last week. bjstaab 14:16 we will need to disconnect any remaining smb connections in order to install a new patch

Problem Resolution: 

A new patch has been installed, normal service should be restored at May 1st 14:40

High -- (affects a majority of campus and/or applications used by a majority of campus) – updated hourly

Medium -- (affects a substantial portion of campus and/or applications used by them) – Updated every 2 hours

Low -- (affects or minimal portion of campus and/or has minimal impact on applications used on campus) – Updated every 4 hours

None -- (minimal to no urgency associated with resolving the incident/event) – Will update when resolved.
