Who is affected?

Users of Active Sync in Apple iOS 6.1.

More details:

A bug in the implementation of Active Sync in Apple IOS 6.1 causes users that respond to meeting requests to generate an excessive load on backend Exchange Servers.

In order to protect UW servers and maintain email access for everyone IT has put in a rule that blocks IOS 6.1 device interaction with meeting requests. Users can still send and receive email and can receive meeting requests, but if they attempt to respond to a meeting request the response will not be received by UW Exchange servers.

Problem resolution:

As of Thursday, February 21st, users that have upgraded to IOS 6.1.2 are able to once again manage calendar appointments on their devices.
