Who is affected?

Users attempting to access the UW computer network from locations on the east campus (east of 15th street).

More details:

At 1:35 am on Thursday, October 18th, a software failure in a piece of network hardware caused the UW network to become unavailable on the east campus (all locations east of 15th street).

Problem resolution:

The network hardware self-recovered and normal service was restored by 2:00 am, Thursday, October 18th.
