Scheduled System Maintenance, 3/10: Brief UW Email Service Interruption Possible

More details:

Last night, Monday, March 9th, there were problems with the backup of data on the Ponyexpress-MB1 email server. Based on past similar problems, IT may need to restart the server to accomplish a successful backup.  If a restart of the Ponyexpress-MB1 server is required it will occur at midnight tonight, Tuesday, March 10th. As a result, email may not be available for some UW users for approximately 15 minutes.

If you are actively working in email at midnight, and for the duration of the restart process, you may receive an error message if you try to save drafts or send messages. In this case, you should wait 15 minutes (no need to close your email client) for normal functionality to return.

Users who leave their email client running overnight should experience normal functionality tomorrow morning, Wednesday, March 11th.
