Who is affected?

More details:

UW's antivirus server, which delivers antivirus services to faculty and staff computers, has become unresponsive.  Pattern file updates are not being deployed and new installations of the Officescan product from the antivirus.uwyo.edu server are failing.

At 9:45 am this morning, Wednesday, February 11th, the UW antivirus server will be restarted.  During this time the Officescan icon on client computers may show a disconnected symbol; however, the antivirus protection will still be active on client computers.  Also during this time the UW installation location for Officescan will be unavailable.

Updated 2/11/2009 10:15 am:

Restarting the server did not correct the problem.

IT is continuing to work on a solution to the problems. Computers that receive their antivirus protection from this server will continue to be protected.  However, new installations of Officescan and new pattern file updates will be unavailable until the problem is resolved.

Updated 2/11/09 2:30 PM:

The problem, a corrupt configuration file, was corrected and normal service restored by 1:20 pm, Wednesday, February 11th.

Problem resolution:
